$6,500 tax credit!

This is all about being resourceful. It’s no secret that there is crazy stuff going on in our government right now. Everything from health care that is supposed to save the world to low employment rates to a housing market that is struggling to hold its value. The fact is, that this environment makes it very hard to go on vacation, let alone go on a nice vacation. I’m aware that I get to travel more than most, and it’s simply because I found a way to make it my job. It’s certainly not because I have tons of extra cash laying around. So, in the interest of helping others out, I wanted to call out one benefit that you all may not be familiar with.
I’m talking about the house purchase credit that the government is offering. This program has been going for a while now, but I’m still shocked by the number of my friends that don’t know how it works. You can literally get a $6,500 tax credit for purchasing a home. Seriously!
The way it works is that you have to be a first time home buyer and you can’t make more than 200k dollars. Well, I’m over-simplifying a bit, but that’s why I included the link above so you can get the real scoop from the experts.
Here’s my latest way to scam a great vacation. Find a home that you can afford to buy, do it now, get the credit when you file your taxes, and then hit the road. Sounds simple, right? What are you waiting for?
