As you all know (sabes), Cancun is in Mexico and the predominant language there is Spanish. We like to practice our Spanish from time to time so you may see some hybrid posts like this one where we speak both English and Spanish. We’re not fluent but we’re practicing. Necesito practicar mucho!
About 5% of the world is Spanish Speaking. It’s the second largest language in the United States (next to English of course). But this post es acerca de Argentina and Turismo en Argentina . Of course, the official language of Argentina is Espanol! When you visit a country, I think it’s very important to learn some key words to help you get around and it’s a sign of respect to the locals. It’s very disrespectful to travel to other countries and automatically expect them to speak English.
If you’re looking for hotels in Argentina, you woulds say Hoteles en Argentinaor hotels in Buenos Aires, you would say Hoteles en Buenos Aires. There are many similarities among the Latin languages. Let’s look at some basics:
Hola – Hi or Hello
Como estas – How are you?
Donde Esta – Where is
Bano – Bathroom
Cerveza – Beer
Vino – Wine
Casa - House
El Mar – Sea/Ocean
Playa – Beach
Bueno – Good
Bien – Well
Hasta Luego – See you later
Gracias – Thank you
De Nada – You’re Welcome
So, if you’re thinking of heading south for the winter, it’s actually summer time if you continue south of the equator. One of those neat little geographic tricks. It’s always summer somewhere. Of course, that means it’s always winter somewhere too! So when you travel to Argentina or cuando viajes a Argentina, have fun!
