Cruising the World

A cruise is a great way to travel. It’s an excellent way to see multiple locations in one vacation. The nice part is that you’re traveling while you’re relaxing. A cruise ship is an entertainment mecca with clubs, gambling, bars and pools. You’ll be able to move from port to port while you relax.
Granted, you’re not going to be able to immerse yourself in the culture of one particular area but, like we said, it’s a great way to travel around the Caribbean or Europe. Think about all you can see! Let’s go through a typical Caribbean Cruise. Well, there is no such thing! Did you know there are over seven thousand islands in the Caribbean.
So, we’ll do our best to describe a few. Of course, you know how much we love Cancun and the Yucatan Penisula! Of course, Cancun is a very popular day trip for cruise ships but let’s explore some other places a little more off the beaten path.
What about a jeep tour through the rain forests of San Lucia? Tropical birds singing, waterfalls and simply the raw energetic life that comes with a rain forest. There is no place on earth that is more alive. If you haven’t been, a great way to see one is on a day trip from your cruise ship!
We have to spend some time on Jamaica. Jamaica is one of those places that you either love or hate. Although, most people that I meet love Jamaica. It’s very distinctive and has a culture all of it’s own. Reggae music sets the tempo for the island. People are laid back and you’ll hear, “no problem mon” several times a day. Try some sour sop. It’s a tropic fruit that’s not main stream. I love it. Also, if you can get your hands on some 30 year aged Appleton Rum, again, HIGHLY recommended. My favorite stretch of Jamaica is the lazy stretch of 7 mile beach in Negril. Make sure you jump off of the cliffs at Ricks! Have a blast!
Well, there’s no way to cover all of the Caribbean in an article but hopefully we’ve driven home the point that a great way to “window shop” your islands is to take a cruise. It will help you see many and maybe pick a few that you would like to schedule a longer visit. Or, maybe you like window shopping. We certainly understand as there is a lot of Caribbean to cover.
